Cider & Perry Month

Cider & Perry Month - An Insight

Highly promoted by CAMRA, Cider & Perry Month is a celebration of when the apples and pears are ripe to pick from orchards around the country. The natural cycle of this production means cider can only be produced once the cycle is complete.

May is when the orchards bloom and begin producing the fruit which will be harvested in October. The cider produced in the previous year reaches maturity and can start being enjoyed.

October is a very active time for cider
makers, especially for those who make only a small amount of cider. Harvest time for
cider fruit is roughly from September to November and by October production is in full flow.
