Passion and flavour at the forefront.

Curious Brewery was established in 2011 with the intention to inspire people to stay curious! But, also to celebrate more and smile and be child-like by asking questions. A truly British brewery making the best tasting beer and cider, only using the best ingredients.

In 2019, they opened their state-of-the-art facility (pictured below) in Ashford, Kent with a £3.6m investment in the development of the range. With their new location full of the latest equipment, Curious Brewery can produce 21,293 litres of beer every year, bottling approximately 4,000 bottles an hour. Curious Brewery installed six units of uni-tanks with a capacity of 20,000L each and can produce 5,200L of beer, which are fermented for approximately 40 days. Each brew at the brewery produces approximately 1,420L of beer. The silos installed at the brewery have a capacity to hold 30T of Malted Kent Barley, which can produce roughly 40,220L of Curious beer. It is also installed with two water tanks with a capacity of 25,000L each. The waste from the brewery, including spent grain and trub, is supplied to local farms to be used as cattle feed.

We chose to bring a real experience to the brewery rather than just being a production site... you get a real transparent view of how we go about making our products.

It features a modern restaurant and bar, as well as a visitor centre which attracts around 50,000 visitors a year. The brewery also offers guided tours of the production house and tasting of the produced beer straight from the tank from the award-winning range of ciders and beers. Curious Brewery have also left substantial opportunity to further the brewery’s status as a leisure “destination” with more plans in the pipeline.

Kentish Pilsner is a celebration of our county’s hop-growing heritage. A traditional Pilsner-style lager brewed with a trio of locally grown hop varieties. Ernest and Bullion provide aromas of citrus, orange, apricot and lemon, whilst the classic Kent Challenger hop delivers the bitterness.

A triple hopped Session IPA of curiously crafted balance, finesse and distinctive drinkability. This refreshing and zesty Session IPA with three complementary hops – English Golding, Chinook & Cascade takes a sessionable IPA to another flavour level.

A clean and aromatic cider using only fully ripe, hand-picked Kentish Rubens and Bramley apples. Fermented with Bacchus wine yeast for a premium cider with crisp, fresh aromas of green apple and hints of elderflower, citrus and kiwi fruit.

A lager of purity and freshness, brewed using Saaz and Cascade hops and fine English pale malt. Then, for a cleaner, fruitier and more aromatic finish, re-fermented with Champagne yeast and a ‘dosage’ of rare Nelson Sauvin hops.
