Why not try something new?

You may think that ‘alcopops’ are for younger, or newer drinkers but the reality is that they are a great pairing for the sunshine and fun times. An alcopop, nicknamed this due to the ‘soda-like’ taste, is a mixed alcoholic drink that tend to be sweetened and served in small bottles with an average ABV of 3-7%. They are often fun colours and flavours.

It is time to re-define the alcopops category and take them to the next level by including them on your cocktail offering. Everybody loves something a little different, so why not have an alcopop coming out the top of your cocktail? Here are two great recipes that will get your offerings turning your customer’s heads.

Ice Blue Margarita

  • 330ml Smirnoff Ice
  • 45ml Tequila
  • 30ml Blue Curacao
  • 30ml Lime Juice
  • Salt and lime wedge to garnish

Rim edge of pint glass with lime juice and salt. Add a little ice and pour over tequila, blue curaçao and lime juice. Add a bottle of Smirnoff Ice and garnish with a lime wedge.

Double Venom

  • 30ml Vodka
  • 30ml Southern Comfort
  • 20ml Triple Sec
  • 90ml Orange juice
  • 330ml WKD Blue

Fill the glass to the top with ice. Add the southern comfort, triple-sec and vodka. Top up glass with orange juice until to ¾. Place full bottle of WKD blue in glass (if you lift the bottle slightly the WKD turns green).
