Because it is not so black and white anymore.

Black Heart is the most recent headliner in BrewDog’s portfolio and is taking on the stout world. lack Heart is brewed to an approximate Original Gravity of 1.046 using five malted barley varieties. One hop variety was added into the kettle during boiling the wort, whirlpooling and for dry-hopping. The wort is cooled and transferred to a fermentation vessel where it is fermented to an approximate Final Gravity of 1.014. The beer is then matured in tank before being filtered and packaged using a nitrogen widget.

BrewDog’s Head of Customer Marketing, Alex Dullard explains that ‘we believe drinking beer is about discovery and experimentation, with a mountain of different types and styles available. However, when it comes to stout, there really is only one choice available in most pubs and bars and has been for many years. As the experts in taste and quality, we have worked with out brewers to develop a classic draught stout, brewed in and for this century, that can be offered to those looking for something new.’

With Black Heart, the supplier intends to make stout more accessible to newcomers and people who normally drink more popular stouts such as Guinness on St Patrick’s Day.
