Alchemy and mystery.

After years spent in libraries, labs, bars and fields, the team at Three Spirit created plant-based alternatives to alcohol that celebrate what you put into a drink, rather than what you take out. It’s at the heart of everything they do; from the plants they combine in their drinks, to the blending of minds and different expertise of the people who make them.

Three Spirit uses active ingredients within their products, including the blend of adaptogens, nootropics, herbs, distillates and ferments, to produce non-alcoholic elixirs that taste delicious on the rocks, with mixers and in cocktails. What’s special about Three Spirit is that every product has been blended by bartenders and plant scientists who know their stuff! Teamed together, they were able to focus on maximising the functional potency of the drinks, carefully extracting the active compounds from the highest grade, ethically sourced ingredients they can get their hands on. The processes are complex, delicate and take time – including maceration, fermentation, distillation, reverse osmosis, freeze-drying, ultrasonic extraction – whatever it takes to harness the full potential of each of the ingredients.

At Three Spirit, innovation, quality, and excellence is what they strive for in all that they do. When it comes to making products, scientific research enables them to identify the best ingredients, isolate the most important active compounds and check for quality and efficacy in plant material and formulation. By working with the scientific community and academia they can push boundaries and gain learnings that can then feed back into education and ever improving sourcing, extraction and formulation methods, ensuring that the products and information is always as good as it can be.

With over 60 plant based ingredients in their drinks, Three Spirit are always looking at ways to learn more about functions and potential of the ingredients. They work with UCL, and the University of Surrey, to choose the best plants and extracts to use in the drinks now, and in the future. They also work with the schools to design and execute independent research projects into the efficacy of the products and some of the key ingredients to provide novel research that can benefit the wider industry, as well as helping Three Spirit improve their products, supply chain, and extraction processes.

Three Spirit is also proud to be a B-Corp. They are committed to improving and prioritising environmentally friendly methods across everything they do by using high-quality plants from only reputable producers, produce in the UK, and ensure they take care of the team, customers and partners. The packaging is recyclable & 99% plastic free with unnecessary waste packaging. They are also 100% vegan and cruelty free across everything they do.
